Tamper-evident publication record, independently verifiable once anchored

A benchmark is only credible if you can prove what it said and when — and that nobody quietly changed it afterward. Every published NPPI dataset is cryptographically fingerprinted and timestamped on a public blockchain, so you can verify the record yourself without taking Reactor N's word for any of it.

How it works

  1. Fingerprint. Each published dataset is hashed with SHA-256. The hash changes if a single character of the data changes, so it uniquely fingerprints that exact print.
  2. Timestamp. The hash is submitted to OpenTimestamps, which anchors it to the Bitcoin blockchain. Once a Bitcoin block confirms, the hash provably existed at that time — a fact no one, including Reactor N, can backdate or forge.
  3. Record. The dataset, its hash, the timestamp proof, and the methodology version are written to the append-only ledger below. Earlier prints are never overwritten — corrections are added alongside the originals.

The result: if Reactor N ever published a number, the date and content are provable. If a competitor later claims to have published a number first, the timestamp settles it.

Verify it yourself

You don't have to trust us. Download a dataset and its proof, then check both:

A freshly stamped proof shows a pending attestation until a Bitcoin block confirms it (typically within a few hours); after that, ots verify reports the confirmed block time. The pending proof is still cryptographically committed at submission — confirmation only makes the date independently checkable.

Why this matters

Provable first-publication is the one defensibility a price benchmark builds entirely on its own — no panel, no permission, no counterparty required. It is the difference between "we say we publish the nuclear PPA number" and "here is cryptographic proof we published it, on this date, unaltered." Over consistent quarterly prints, that record is what makes NPPI the reference others cite rather than reconstruct.
