1. Information We Collect

Reactor N is a free nuclear energy information and education app. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no paywall, and it collects almost nothing:

Study Data: Notes, journal entries, watchlists, and quiz progress you create are stored locally on your device. We do not operate external databases for user content.

AI Copilot Queries: Questions you ask the AI copilot are processed to generate a response and are not linked to any account or identity.

Energy Market Data: We fetch publicly available data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). No personal data is sent to these agencies.

2. How We Use Information

The little we process is used exclusively to:

  • Answer your AI copilot questions
  • Display reactor status, regulatory alerts, and public market data
  • Keep your study progress on your device

3. Data Storage & Security

Local Storage: Your notes, watchlists, and study progress are stored locally on your device using Apple's encrypted SwiftData framework. We do not operate external databases for user content.

No Third-Party Analytics: Reactor N does not use third-party analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or advertising networks. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.

API Communications: Data transmitted to EIA, NRC, and Federal Register APIs uses HTTPS encryption. Only publicly available energy and regulatory data is fetched — no personal information is sent.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We may disclose information only if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Third-Party Services

Reactor N integrates with the following third-party services for core functionality:

  • NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission): Reactor power status, regulatory alerts, information notices, and bulletins sourced from nrc.gov public feeds.
  • EIA (Energy Information Administration): Wholesale electricity prices, nuclear generation data, and retail energy prices from api.eia.gov.
  • Federal Register: NRC regulatory documents and proposed rules.
  • Groq (AI inference): AI copilot queries are processed by Groq's API. Your queries are sent securely via HTTPS. Groq's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.

This data is provided for informational purposes only. Reactor N is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the NRC, EIA, Groq, or any government agency. Do not use this app as the sole basis for regulatory compliance decisions.

6. Children's Privacy

Reactor N is designed for nuclear-energy students and professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

You may at any time:

  • Delete your data: Delete the app to remove all locally stored data — there is no account to close because none exists.
  • Export your data: Contact us to request a copy of any data we process.
  • Opt out of emails: Unsubscribe from any communications at any time.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will notify you of material changes through the app.
